What we do

Get Watch Faces is an independent studio building premium, minimalist watch faces for Garmin watches through Garmin's Connect IQ platform. Our first face, Tessera, is free and has passed a thousand installs; the paid faces, Quipu, Tessera+ and Tifo, build on the same foundation. We are not affiliated with Garmin Ltd.; we build on their public developer platform, like thousands of others.

How we work

Two things shape every face. First, restraint: a big, quiet time, a custom typeface we draw or adapt for each face, and only the data you actually use. Second, honesty about hardware. Garmin ships two very different display types, bright AMOLED and sunlight-first MIP, and a face that looks right on one can look wrong on the other. We tune every color and layout separately per display group, verify each face in Garmin's official Connect IQ simulator across all display sizes, and test on a real wrist before anything ships. When a device would not render a face correctly, we leave it off rather than pretend.

Why we write guides

Owning the watches and building for them means we answer the same questions every week: where the face settings hid, why the watch shows an "IQ!" triangle, whether an always-on display really drains the battery. So we wrote them down. Our guides are verified in the simulator or on a real device before publishing, and every page carries the date and method it was checked with. If a Garmin feature beats a third-party face for some job, we say so; that honesty is the point.

Translated, properly

Every face is fully translated into 24 languages, settings and dates included, not just the store page. On watch languages outside the Latin alphabet the date falls back to clean English rather than showing broken characters. It is the kind of detail nobody notices when it works and everybody notices when it does not.
